SAP Solution Architect
Position: SAP Solution Architect
Job Description:
The SAP Solution Architect supports the technical aspects of SAP Business Planning & Consolidation product sales and services in the Canadian marketplace.
- On-Site demonstrations of the product to a technical/business audience.
- Creation and demonstration of the product using customer data in a technical/business audience setting.
- Completion of technical Request for Proposal (RFP’s) and Request for Information (RFI’s).
- Product installation and integration at the customer site.
- Collaboration of requests, requirements and issues to other team members in the organization such as Product Management/Support.
- Partners support – Provide technical support.
- Proof of Concept support – typically lasts 1-10 days on customer site and is intended to show that our product meets customer requirements.
- Technical product support during the sales cycle.
- Transition of the account from Pre-Sales to Post-Sales support – the Solution Architect is responsible for transitioning the information gathered during the sales cycle to the Post-Sales/support team.
- Internal training and support of Performance Analytics personnel in the SAP BW platform and infrastructure.
Travel:
While some of the activities can be conducted over the web, there are many situation where it makes more sense to go on-site. The travel requirement for a Solution Architect is 50%-60%.
Technical Skill Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of Pre-Sales experience in Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing/Consulting industry.
- Data Warehouse and BI experience (data warehousing technologies/analytical tools and current industry trends)
- Hands-on SQL and database knowledge (SQL queries, reporting tools, HTML, XML)
- Hands-on SAP-BW technical consulting
- Proven understanding of OLAP concepts.
- Good knowledge of the Windows operating systems.
- Programming skills – It is required for consulting to have a basic understanding of programming and know basic languages like web programming languages like HTML.
- Relational Database experience – Experience with a relational database product of at least 2 years.
- Knowledge of operating systems: Windows, Unix or Linux
- Programming in Java, Javascript, Visual Basic, shell script.
Business Skill Requirements:
- Good oral/verbal English communication skills. (Other languages might be required based on location)
- Excellent presentation skills.
- A good understanding of the sales cycle and the decision making process.
